The Happening - RUBBISH…not a tech story but i need to vent….

OK, so i was expecting a lot from this movie, Signs - great movie…The Village - great movie…. 6th Sense - great movie…. Unbreakable - good movie. (I’ve not seen Lady In The Water, so can’t comment)
All of his movies that I’ve seen were great containing some very good plot twists and surprises at the end.
Not so with The Happening I’m afraid.
The acting was all a little “high school play” and the plot seemed a little lacking.
Half way through the movie you get to know roughly whats happening…. plants talking to each other and punishing us for being bad to the planet? please….and this plot line does not change or there is no huge “reveal” or “twist” at the end, nothing that we weren’t expecting anyway.
Granted, there are some reasonably jumpy moments and some gratuitous death scenes… but all in all it was a big fat let down.
I know is is not tech related in any shape or form but I had to vent somewhere as i was so disappointed.

Personally, I think “6th Sense” was the only really good thing he’s ever done, with “Unbreakable” being…okay.

Yeh, Signs and The Village were both quite good in my opinion… both with a good twist at the end which we’ve all grown to love from his movies…this one just didnt fit in though the plot had good potential but just failed to excite me.
There was simply nothing at the end… we sort of sat there and said… “erm right..ok”
